On January 25th I finally visited Windsor again. After some rather intense weather 30KM either side of Dutton I arrived with time to spare and visited Sun Hong for lunch. Surprisingly the staff recognized me, after 4 years.
Following a productive afternoon on campus I swung by Devonshire mall on my way out to Amherstburg. At Cinema 1 I stumbled upon an amusingly terrible dvd…
Terrible purchase in tow I traveled to Amherstburg, ate dinner and 4 hours later was hit with wonderful food poisoning symptoms. So much for Saturday plans.
By Sunday I was feeling mostly normal, finally paid Mike Beauchamp for my shiny new Teensy 3.0. Sushi, which was planned for Saturday was had with a smaller group; Much to the chagrin of my gurgling intestines. Mike wanted to try archery with Rose City Archers. We lucked out, and they had room for complete novices. For a first experience it was enjoyable, although I did hit my arm with the bowstring, repeatedly, in the same location.
Archery ended just after the Snow/Ice storm had rolled into the area. After dropping Mike off I had the enjoyable experience of driving down Tecumseh road through freezing rain. By the time I made it to the outskirts of Lasalle the ice stopped and snow was once again the main concern. The road crews in Lasalle had done an amazing job of keeping up with the snowfall. The power was out through the entire town, but the roads were clear. The moment I was out of Lasalle the roads were back to nightmare fuel quality, I do dislike being able to describe a drive as “exciting.”
Monday I returned to Kitchener, through thick fog, completing the hazardous driving weather trifiecta. Much to my surprise I discovered a pair of guppy fry in my aquarium, just in time to see one get eaten by it’s mother. Soldering was done and my Teensy is now breadboard ready. And a third fry came out of hiding and was saved from imminent consumption.
Eventually my archery bruise expanded into a large green halo around the impact point.
